2024 MAZDA CX-70 Preview: Performance

With the 2024 Mazda CX-70 release date likely to be in 2023, National City drivers won’t see this SUV on the streets for a minute, and few official details have yet to be released. There is some journalistic speculation about its performance, however. It’s likely that:

  • The Mazda CX-70 will come standard with all-wheel drive.
  • It’s been confirmed that the Mazda CX-70 will share the same platform and powertrains as the upcoming Mazda CX-90, which is set to replace the Mazda CX-9. If that’s true, you can expect the CX-70 to feature specs similar to the outgoing CX-9, which delivers 227 hp.
  • It’s very likely that the standard engine option for the Mazda CX-70 will feature mild-hybrid technology to simultaneously boost performance and fuel economy.
  • Meanwhile, a plug-in hybrid trim is almost certain and will likely offer around 30 miles of pure-electric range.

2024 MAZDA CX-70 Preview: Price

We really don’t know how much the 2024 Mazda CX-70 will cost. Some suggest a price ranging from the low 30s to the high 40s, depending on the trim. Others have guessed that given the models the Mazda CX-70 PHEV will compete with, the plug-in hybrid variant will start in the mid-30s. At the time of this writing, we don’t know much, so stay tuned for updates!

2024 MAZDA CX-70 Preview: Interior

The standard version of the Mazda CX-70 will feature two rows and seating for 5 Escondido drivers. It’s likely that there will be a 7-seater three-row configuration as well. As for cargo space, the Mazda CX-70 will feature a split-folding second row, and the engineers have emphasized that they’ve outfitted the Mazda CX-70 with a particularly robust cargo bay. Here are a few Mazda CX-70 interior features that are probable:

  • Wireless charging
  • Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® compatibility
  • USB outlets
  • And more!
